Hyderabad, December 11: The massive fire incident occurred in AMRI hospital Kolkatta in which 90 persons were killed has placed a question mark on the fire safety measures taken up by the private hospitals.
Sadly there are atleast 400 hospitals in Hyderabad where a fire accident, like that of AMRI hospital Kolkatta, may occur since there are no considerable fire safety arrangements in the said 400 hospitals.
The fire prevention wing of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation inspected 556 hospitals of which only 149 had no objection certificate issued by fire department under which they had installed fire safety equipments.
GHMC officials have to say that most of the hospitals flout fire safety norms and they also daringly violate building laws.
