Eluru, December 18: About 40 tonnes of fish perished due to suspected poisoning in Brahmanandapuram under Ungutur mandal of West Godavari district on Saturday.
Police suspect that the fish worth Rs 40 lakh perished as some unscrupulous elements mixed poison in the water.
Police have registered a case and taken up investigation.
