Kolkata: 40 Muslim candidates, including four women, out of 321 cleared the West Bengal Civil Service (Executive) examination. They will be appointed in various positions under the State administrative hierarchies. 5 of them were selected for the post of Joint Block Development Officer.
Of the 40 Muslim candidates who cracked Civil Services, 90% i.e. 33 have been selected under the OBC A category, while only one Muslim candidate was selected under the OBC B category. It must be noted that 42 Muslim sects come under OBC B category.
