4 youngsters stripped, killed in Mumbai

Mumbai, June 07: The partially charred bodies of four men in their twenties were found atop a hillock in Kurar and Malad on Monday morning. They had been missing since Saturday night after allegedly getting into a scuffle with a local gang.

More than 10 men have been named as accused in the case, some have been detained, though the police are still to make any arrests.

At about 1 am on Sunday, friends and families of the victims had reported to the Kurar police that the boys had been picked up. The victims, identified as Chetan Dhule (24) and Dinesh Ihire (26), Ganesh Karanje (24), Bharat Kudle (27), were found naked with their throats slit.

Police said, Kudle with a friend had gone to a clinic in Malad on Saturday evening to collect payment for the servicing of a water purification system. They got into a scuffle with a group of eight men, after which Kudle called Dhule, Ihire and Karanje.

According to reports, the main accused, Uday Pathak, is a history-sheeter. A case of kidnapping and murder has been registered against more than 10 accused.
