This pint-sized boy is carrying a long stick of authority. He is the Mayor of Dorset, Minn., a small community near Park Rapids.
Mayor Robert “Bobbie” Tufts is calling the shots in the town, disciplining his subjects as well as staff. The boy yet to pass kindergarten gets the respect of townsmen for his wisdom. The mayor has a first lady named Sophia.
The town which has a population of only 22, has more restaurants than men and boasts itself to be the Restaurant Capital of the World.
The boy is the darling of the town as he sings and dances. He guides his citizens safely across the street, big stick in hand. He’s also an expert fisherman and knows how to dole out advice about the best bait to use.
Businessman of the town looks after the administration though the pint-sized mayor was elected through draw.
“He’s amazing. He’s just completely amazing,” said Kathy Schmidt, whose family has lived in the area for four generations. “He’s right in your face and well-spoken. You can’t imagine what a ball of fire he is.”
