Guwahati: In a bizarre incident a 4-year-old girl was allegedly beheaded by her father to appease God in order to trace a lost mobile phone in Assam.
The girl, identified as Sunu Godba,was reported missing on October 24 and her
beheaded body with her hands chopped was found in Ratanpur village of the district on Tuesday morning.
Police said there was no sign of sexual assault on the victim.The act of sacrifice was carried by a man who is said to practice black magic ‘tantrik’.
The police have arrested two of the accused, Hanuman Bhumij and Arif Uddin Ali. The other two, including the alleged witch named Gabbar Singh and Ali’s brother Jalal Uddin have fleed.
According to the reports one person identified as Bhumji had approached to the Tantrik to retrieve the missing phone and Tantrik tortured and sacrificed the girl to find the missing phone .
Police confirmed that a puja was performed at Bhumij’s house by tantrik Singh. They started investigations but two Tantriks have not confessed yet.
Charaideo superintendent of police Mohneesh Mishra said.“We learnt that a sorcerer had come to the village to retrieve the lost mobile phone. But by the time we received a complaint from the girl’s family about her abduction, he had fled. We are looking for him and the other person, who is Ali’s brother. We will nab them soon.”
“I can’t say but it looks like that because the puja was performed at his house,” he said.
