Hyderabad, September 12: Miscreants attacked 4 Muslim youth in the incidents of miscreancy occurred during Ganesh procession in the city on Sunday. The miscreants assaulted the youth and snatched their bike. According to details Mustafa Ahmed and Mohammad Aslam of Sapotabagh Sayeedabad were going towards Dr. Zakir Hussain colony when suddenly the miscreants present in the Ganesh procession passing by, stopped them and asked them to dance in front of Ganesh idol. When the youth refused, miscreants beat them and assaulted them severely. Not only this but the miscreants snatched away their bike also and abused them. When the victims reached Sayeedabad police station to lodge a complaint the Rakshak police van took them to the spot to identify the culprits but again the miscreants attacked other two youth Tahseen and Kamal in front of police in which Tahseen sustained head injury. Sources say that Mohammad Aslam’s nose got injured in the attack for which he has been admitted to the hospital.
On receipt of the information of the attack the local youth gathered at Sayeedabad police station and raised slogans against the willfulness of miscreants and police’s silence over it, after which assistant commissioner of police Malakpet division Mr. Iqbal Siddiqui arrived there and registered written complaint by the Muslim youth and shifted them to the hospital.
Similarly in another incident occurred at Chatrinaka yesterday evening, miscreants attacked police when 25 year old Mahesh died after being crushed by the lorry carrying Ganehs idol. It is said that Mahesh was hit by the lorry when he was dancing in front of the lorry. Following Mahesh’s death the miscreants held the police responsible for the incident and pelted stones at the police.
In another incident some miscreants desecrated the mosque and threw gulal on it at Ramantapur area and also caused slight damage to the mosque.
Sources further stated that an auto driver Sharfu entered into the Ganesh procession who was taking a burqa clad woman with him when miscreants stopped him and assaulted him.
