4 killed in road mishap in Raj

Jaipur: Four persons were killed today when their vehicle hit a tree in Sriganganagar district of Rajasthan.

The accident took place nearly a km away from Kotha village when the driver of the car in a bid to save a stray animal that came on the road all of a sudden rammed the vehicle into the tree, investigating officer Jai Singh told PTI.

Three persons died on the spot, while one injured succumbed to his injuries in the hospital, later, he said.

The deceased were identified as Kewal Singh (19), Arshdeep Singh (18), Navjot Singh (22) and Jiten (22), Singh added.

They were on their way from Hindumalkot to Kotha village.

A case under CrPc 174 has been registered in this regard, he said.

The bodies were handed over to their family members without conducting post mortem, police said.
