Dehra Dun, July 27: At least four persons, including a minor girl, were killed and eight injured in various rain-related incidents across Uttarakhand during the past 24 hours as heavy rains lashed the capital and nearby areas. In Chamolzi district, two labourers were killed while seven others injured when an under construction wall collapsed due to heavy rains.
The labourers were sleeping in tents along the wall when the mishap took place, official sources said here. In a separate incident, one person was killed while another wounded at Chamasari village in the district when boulders from a hill top fell on a van in which they were traveling last night.
Another incident took place at Kanwali road area yesterday when a 10-year-old girl fell into a nallah and swept away due to torrential rains. She is feared dead and efforts to search the girl has proved futile so far, they said
