4 held for photographer’s murder

Hyderabad, April 10: Four persons involved in the killing of a private photographer at Santoshnagar recently were arrested by the police today.

Photographer Mohd Imran Hussain was killed on April 6 by five persons when he came to drop the daughter of a woman, Shabana Sultana, with whom he had an illicit relationship.

Police said Shabana Sultana was married to Habeeb Osman Alkaf, who is working in the UAE.

Habeeb Osman’s brother, Habeeb Ahmed Alkaf was against this affair and asked Sultana to get separated from his brother legally on the condition that their two children were handed over to them. Sultana, however, did not heed his advice and continued her relationship with Hussain.

Sultana meanwhile lodged a complaint with the police against her husband’s brothers, brother-in-law Syed Ismail Ahmed and her in-laws.

Habeeb Ahmed decided to eliminate Sultana and Hussain and sought the help of Syed Ismail and three others – Syed Afsar, Anwar Ahmed and Nayeem to execute the killing.

They waited for Sultana and Hussain at the GBS Angel’s High School at Santoshnagar colony. When the duo came to drop Sultana’s daughter, the five accused attacked Hussain and fled from the place in an auto.

Police today arrested Habeeb Ahmed, Syed Ismail, Syed Afsar and Anwar while the remaining two others were absconding. Police recovered three daggers, an auto and a motorcycle from them.
