washington, August 14: At least four people have been killed and more than 40 others injured after a concert stage collapsed in the US state of Indiana.
The tragedy took place at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday evening when a wind gust brought the stage down.
No one was performing at the time of the incident, but the stage rigging fell onto an area where some fans were seated.
Eyewitnesses say spectators tried to hold up parts of the collapsed stage to help those who may have been trapped.
“All of a sudden, there was a second gust and the stage started to twist slowly. The grandstand started to shake. Everyone started to run instantly to try and get out,” an eyewitness said.
A command center has been set up to help the injured at the site of the accident.
