4 arrested for double murder in Udampur

Jammu, February 21: Four persons have been arrested for their alleged involvement in a double murder, happened early this month in Udhampur district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

“We have solved the mysterious double murder case and arrested four persons after Special Investigation Team (SIT) worked very hard to crack the case,” Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Udhampur-Reasi Range Jagjit Kumar told reporters.

Two MES employees Moti Ram and Bodh Raj, both in electrical department, were killed by a sharp edged weapon on the intervening night of February 1 and 2 at MES headquarters in the district.

An SIT team, headed by Additional SP Udhampur, took over the probe into the case and arrested the four — a MES employee Jagpaul, his brother Balbir, Hari Dass and Om Parkesh for their alleged involvement into the murder. The fifth accused Tara Chand is absconding.
