Lucknow: Four persons were arrested today by the Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) from Kanpur for allegedly selling arms by illegally using licence from Bihar, the police said.
The squad headed by Deputy SP Manish Chandra Sonkar arrested the arms dealers from Kanpur, Inspector General of the Uttar Pradesh ATS, Assem Arun, said in a statement here.
“Vijay Khanna (Khanna Armoury), Amarjeet Neogy (AK Neogy and Company), Jainul Abdeen (Poorvanchal Gun House) and Rajiv Shukla (Jai Jawan Arms Dealer) have been arrested,” it said.
The involvement of the accused in illegal selling of 19 arms has emerged during investigation, the statement said .
