4 ABVP activists jump from police station building

Mahbubnagar, May 14: Four activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad sustained injuries here on Thursday when they jumped from the top of the building housing the Two Town police station protesting against the ‘high-handedness’ of Sub-Inspector Lingaiah.

The ABVP members took out a rally to the District Collectorate demanding restoration of fee reimbursement and scholarships. The police stopped them at the entrance to the Collectorate. However, some protestors entered the premises and staged a dharna before the Collector’s chambers. Enraged at the action of the agitators, the police beat them up before taking them into custody.
