New Delhi: A medium intensity earthquake, measuring 4.7 on the Richter Scale, today hit Assam.
According to National Center of Seismology, a unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, the quake hit the Dhubri region of Assam at 9.27 pm at a depth of 10 km.
However, there were no immediate reports of loss of life or property.
The north-east region is known to be a high-seismic zone.
