Kinshasa, April 25: At least 39 people were killed and dozens of others are missing when their vessel capsized on a lake in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Xinhua reported Monday.
The vessel capsized on the lake Kivu with more than 100 people on board. Seven people were rescued.
“Our team of rescuers found 39 corpses and search continues to recover all the corpses,” Emanuelle Mulinbwa, communication counsellor of South Kivu province, told Xinhua.
Bad weather and high winds were linked to the accident.
