A total number of 2015 cases have been registered during the current month in Hyderabad city, of which 257 drunken drivers have been imprisoned.
The Additional Commissioner of Police, Traffic, informed in a press note that the Metropolitan Magistrate Courts at Erra Manzil has yesterday awarded, one month imprisonment to one person, 20 days imprisonment to one person, 15 days for one person, ten days for seven persons, three days for ten persons, two days for four persons, one day for four persons and till the rising of the Court for eight persons, apart from imposing a fine up to Rs,2000 for drunken driving.(NSS)
