Karachi, Aug. 8 : A series of bomb attacks have left 36 people dead, wounding hundred more in the Afghan capital since the end of the NATO combat mission in December.
According to the Dawn, the first attack involved a truck packed with explosives blowing up near an army base in the neighbourhood of Shah Shaheed ripping off buildings and leaving scattered piles of rubble and in less than 24 hours, a suicide attacker dressed in police uniform blew himself up at the entrance of Kabul Police Academy killing at least at least 20 Afghan cadets.
Pakistani Health Ministry has informed that the number of wounded could go up even higher.
The blasts, which took place last night, are the first major militant assaults on Kabul since the announcement of Taliban chief Mullah Omar’s death. (ANI)
