As compensation to the thousands of acres of land of Dargah Hazrat Syed Baba Sharfuddin Suharvardi, Pahadi Shareef which has been taken inside Shamsabad airport premises, only 35 acre land has been handed over to the Waqf board on April 8, 2012. On the occasion Minority Welfare Minister Mohammad Ahmedullah told that it is a very happy event that further 35 acres of land has been handed over to state Waqf board by the Congress government while 50 acres of land had been handed over earlier. This 35 acres land is located at Koheda village under Hayath Nagar mandal. It must be noted that the print and electronic media greatly applauded the report and gave it good coverage. Besides this some champions have installed hoardings with their photos here and there taking the credit for that.
When our correspondent went to the said land for inspection it was found that the said 35 acre land is located at the centre of the hillocks and there is no way to reach the place even it is difficult for motor cycle to go there. It is also found that the land is under the possession of 6 families for 60 years. 4 families belong to Reddy community and 2 belong to Harijan community. They have the documents also. The former Sarpanch told that they will not vacate the land easily.
It must be noted that in Koheda village there is 1000 acres of government land which is occupied by 120 families and the land which has been handed over to the Waqf board is the worst land among 1000 acres of land.
It means that the government did not think it necessary to show the land to Waqf board before the handover. It Waqf board had surveyed the land before accepting the documents then the question arises why it accepted such useless land.
