Hyderabad, October 28: 340 state Hajj aspirants hanged around helplessly at Madina airport for more than 12 hours thanks to the mismanagement of State Hajj Committee. Hajj aspirants complained that they had to stay at airport as there was no ‘Muallim’ to carry them out.
When the authorities of Hajj committee were called it was found that those 340 aspirants had not been allotted accommodation.
As soon as the MBT corporator Amjad Ullah Khan Khalid learnt about the matter he headed towards Hajj house in rage and showed his resentment staging dharna.
In view of the strong protest made by Amjad ullah Khan Khalid chairman Hajj committee communicated with Indian Hajj mission and asked to provide food to the aspirants stuck at airport.
It was told that the aspirants which include mostly old age persons took off at 7:40 and reached Saudi Arabia at 10 o’clock but until late night no one was there to heed to their grievance.
When contacted repeatedly state Hajj committee shrugged shoulders saying it was not their responsibility to look after the aspirants in Madina, although it is the responsibility of state and central Hajj committees to brief the aspirants about their ‘Muallim’ and accommodation details before their departure.
