Hyderabad: Out of 74 million children in the age group of 3-6 years in India, nearly 20 million children have not been admitted in pre-school education. Majority of them belong to depressed classes.
According to a report released by UNICEF, nearly 34% Muslim children, 25.9% Hindu and 25.6% Christian children have not been admitted in schools.
It may be noted that if these children are not admitted into any school, their faculties of learning would be hampered. At a later age, they cann’t continue their education. Many children also discontinue their school education.
According to the this report, due to the implementation of “Right to Education” Act, the tendency to abandon school education of the children between the age group 6-14 years has been minimized.
