Principal Secretary Poonam Malakondaiah today said cases and complaints are increasing day after day with regard to vulgar messages and pictures in the Face book.
After a review meeting on “Protection and security to women” here, Poonam stressed the need for 33 per cent reservation for women in police department. She also favored a “non-bailable” amendment in the IT Act 66-A. She said they have obtained suggestions and opinions from women of various sectors during a 10-day meeting. “We will submit a preliminary report to the Government on September 20.
Expressing concern over the growing number of cases of cheating among the youth, she said due to delay in reports from Forensic and medical wings the inquiries were being delayed in cases relating to rape. Special teams should be formed to deal with rape cases for finding a speedy solution, she opined. (NSS)
