NEW DELHI: A 35-year-old man was shot dead after two unidentified men opened fire on him in broad daylight. The incident took place in a densely-populated area of south-east Delhi’s Batla House on Monday evening.
The victim, identified as Dilshad Khan, a property dealer was rushed to Holy Family Hospital where he was declared already brought dead.

According to Indian Express reports, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South-East) Chinmoy Biswal said, “Preliminary enquiry has so far revealed that Dilshad was being followed by two unidentified men, who were wearing helmets. The two accused opened fire at him, following which they fled the spot.”
Police suspect property dispute may be the angle that has led to Khan’s brutal killing and launched an investigation into the case.
“A case under Section 302 [punishment for murder] of the Indian Penal Code has been registered and the investigation has been taken up,” the officer said, The Hindu reported.
According to police, Dilshad is survived by his wife and three children, an eight-year-old daughter, two sons — aged seven years and seven months.
