3,11,000 applications received for Hajj 2012

This year approximately 3,11,000 Hajj applications were received from 30 States and Union territories while the Hajj committee quota is 1 lakh 25 thousand. Despite passport compulsion there is an increase of 9 thousand applications compared to last year. Dr. S Shakir Husain chief executive officer Central Hajj committee told this during a press conference.

The Hajj aspirants intending for Hajj pilgrimage through Andhra Pradesh Hajj committee will leave for Madina from Hyderabad and return via Jeddah.

The qurrah (drawing of lots) will be held across the country from 7th to 15th May. From the State, 16,752 applications have been received and the Qurrah for these applications would be held on May 10.
