31 Charge-sheeted in the Million March case

Police have filed a charge-sheet in connection with the Million March last year, during which statues of several great leaders were demolished by vandals.

Police have said that statues were demolished as part of a conspiracy and that they had arrested 10 persons in connection with the case. Police have mentioned the names of the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao, his son K T Rama Rao, daughter Kavita, nephew Harish Rao (all MLAs), Telangana political JAC chairman Prof. Kodandaram, Telangana Employees

JAC leader Swamy Goud, TRS legislature party leader Eetela Rajender and party MP Vijaya Sannti. The CCS has informed the court that cases were registered against these persons under sections 120 B, 147, 148, 149, 332 and 435.

TELANGANA LEADERS ARRESTED

Meanwhile, police have blocked the release of a book on Million March, brought out in connection with the event completing an year. Police have arrested Prof Haragopal who was to have released the book, journalist Mallepalli Lakshmaiah and other Telangana leaders.

DEMOLITION WAS DHARMAGRAHA

Several Telangana intellectuals, journalists and educationists have described the demolition of statues on tank bund on March 10 last year as ‘Dharmagraha’. They have expressed the view that demolition was not an act of vandalism. Journalists Mallepalli Lakshmaiah, Allam Narayana, Prof. Haragopal and others have described the demolition as ‘Dharmagraha’.
