Hyderabad, February 24: Andhra Pradesh state government earmarked an amount of 301 crore rupees for Minorities out of a total outlay of 1,28,542 crore budget for the year 2011-12. Andhra Pradesh has increased a total of 64 crore rupees in minority budget. The state finance minister mentioning the minority welfare schemes especially computerization of AP state waqf board documents besides issue of fee reimbursement and scholarships told that state government has decided to allocate a budget of Rs. 301 crore on the minority welfare. The government has earmarked 250 crore rupees for reimbursement and scholarship increasing the last year budget with 40 crore which will be apart from central government scholarship.
For the study of social and economical status of minorities the government has allocated one crore rupees. Budget for Minority residential school for girls has been increased to 3 crore from the last year budget of 1 crore. Government has not increased a single rupee in its last year’s allocation of 1 crore 25 lakh rupees for mass marriages. Christian Finance corporation budget is also retained the same with last year’s 28 lakh rupees.
The allocation for AP Minorities Finance Corporation has been increased to 6 crore with an increase of rs 1 crore.
There is no plan to increase the budget of Dairatul Muarif too and it is likely to be remained 50 lakh rupees. Andhra Pradesh Urdu Academy budget has also been retained 35 crore rupees. Government is planning to allocate 25 lakh rupees for Waqf survey commission. Government has decided to increase the amount of 10 lakh rupees in the budget allocated to Andhra Pradesh Hajj committee. Previous budget of AP Hajj committee used to be 70 lakh.
