(Siasat News) Mr. N. Kiran Kumar Reddy completed 3 years of his tenure as CM. In the beginning, he had made lofty claims about the welfare of Minorities and other weaker sections but the ground realities paint a gloomy picture. Govt. had allocated Rs. 1027 crore for the Dept. of Minorities Welfare during the current financial year 2013-2014 but the Govt. has released Rs. 412 crore out of which only Rs. 293 crore have been spent so far. In this manner Rs. 827 crore have to be spent during the next 4 months. It is not known how the Govt. is going to spent the balance amount. Last year also total budget allocated for minorities was Rs. 480 crore. Out of which Govt. released Rs. 310 crore but only Rs. 266 crore could be spent. For Minorities Finance Corporation a sum of Rs. 125 crore was allocated out of which only Rs.10.5 crore could be spent. Dept. of Minorities Welfare should take immediate steps to release the remaining budget for the effective implementation of welfare schemes for Minorities.
