Jaipur, April 11: As many as three strips out of seven have been prepared for the seven IPL-4 matches at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium here.
“The turf will help both teams. It would be a batting dominated pitch. Totals of 160-170 runs can be made on this turf,” said curator Taposh Chatterjee.
He said though seven turf wickets are in the stadium, this year many matches have been played here, so only three could be prepared.
The second match would be played on the number two turf.
“The wicket has to be slower side due to hot weather,” he said, adding that batsmen can face the problem of hitting strokes.
Chatterjee, who had prepared wickets for a lot of international matches, said the out field will be faster while the boundary length will be between 70 and 75 yards.
“Not really, the due factor will not work in the evening matches but in the day night match is effective, the team, who will bat second can get the advantage in the match. But as far as wicket is concerned, it plays same both for batting and bowling sides,” he said.
“For the first time, Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) installed the electronic scoreboard at the stadium along with manual scoreboard, which remain always in the stadium and always work during the matches. For the first time giant screen scoreboard were also situated at the east and west sides of the stadium.
