Only 3 pc Muslims are graduates: Mahmood Ali

Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali said that percentage of Muslims who completes graduation is just 3, hence Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to establish residential schools to eliminate educational backwardness. Deputy Chief Minister was addressing an inaugural function of residential school for girls at Golconda, in Karwan Assembly Constituency. Muslims’ educational backwardness is not a secret, he added. Sachar Committee has declared Muslims more backward than the Dalits. No government paid attention towards eliminating Muslim backwardness since independence, as a result their backwardness increased.

Mahmood Ali revealed that 71 residential schools are being opened in the first phase and the schools will be extended till intermediate level. He urged the teachers to pay attention towards providing quality education. He hoped that the students of residential schools will hold high positions in the future.

District Collector Rahul Baweja, District Minority Welfare Officer Sridhar Veera Brahma Chari and officials of Education and Revenue Departments were present on the occasion.
