3 more persons die due to swine flu

New Delhi, January 15: Three more persons, including one in Delhi, succumbed to swine flu and 64 fresh cases of the dreaded disease were reported today.

Besides Delhi, the deaths were reported from Maharashtra and Gujarat.

During the day, Maharashtra reported a maximum of 27 cases followed by Karnataka at 11, health ministry officials said.

Eight cases were reported from Gujarat, five from Madhya Pradesh and four each from Delhi and Chandigarh.

With today’s figures, the death toll due to the deadly virus has reached 1111.

Of 64 cases reported during the day, one has a history of foreign travel and the rest are indigenous.

Till date, samples from 1,18,979 persons have been tested for Influenza A H1N1 in Government Laboratories and a few private laboratories across the country and 23.6 per cent of them have been found positive.
