3 more cases reported from Vizag

Vishakapatnam, August 21: As swine flu sweeps the entire nation, three more fresh cases of the deadly infection have been reported from Visakhapatnam.
The city has earlier reported four cases but all of them had been treated and discharged. In several screening camps conducted over a period of two weeks, the authorities isolated 21 persons and sent their throat and nasal swabs to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD), Delhi.

The four patients tested positive were among these persons and they had been quarantined, treated and discharges a couple of days ago. The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s website today gave details of the new cases of them. One was a 45-year-old male, who travelled from UK via Dubai to Visakhapatnam. The remaining two cases were indigenous, the Ministry website said. But the local medical authorities say they are not aware of the new cases. “Earlier, four patients tested positive and they had been treated and discharged. I am not aware of the new three cases ,” DMHO Sarojini told ENS.
