3 killed as train rams into car in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, March 14: An advocate and his two daughters died while his wife and another woman sustained injuries when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a train at an unmanned railway crossing in Ranga Reddy district here yesterday, police said.

The incident occurred in Vikarabad mandal area at around 4.45 pm when the car was crossing the tracks, resulting in the death of three persons on the spot and leaving two others severely injured, they said.

The deceased were identified as Venkat Reddy (38), an advocate in Vikarabad town, and his two daughters Swetha (11) and Harshita Reddy (9), a police officer told PTI, adding the two injured women Vijayshree ( the advocate’s wife) and their house-maid, Radhika, were rushed to a hospital.

Police are probing into the matter, said officials.
