3 killed in bus-train collision in Jalandhar

Jalandhar, June 18: At least three people including a minor were killed this morning when a mini-bus collided with a passenger train at an unmanned railway crossing in Punjab’s Jalandhar district.

“The collision between Howrah-bound Jammu-Himgiri Express train and a mini bus took place at an unmanned railway crossing at Bhogpur Cholang railway division on Jalandhar-Pathankot railway track,” Railway police said.

The bus driver died on the spot and a woman and her 10-year-old son also succumbed to injuries, it said.

One person was also injured in the accident and has been admitted to a private hospital.
