New Delhi: Three members of a family were killed and 16 others injured after their vehicle fell into a well in a roadside field in Kota district.
The injured and deceased were members of the same family and were going to Manoharthana town to sell items in the fair.
The deceased were identified as Aas Mohammad (30), Sellha Husain (30), residents of Chapra district in Bihar and Vinod (35), resident of Raiwadi area of Haryana, Rampal Sharma, SHO at Mandana police station.
Around 19 people, most of them from the same family from Chapra district in Bihar, were going to Manoharthana town to sell items in seasonal fair in the town, said Sharma.
Sharma said the driver of the vehicle at Padampura Turn lost balance and broke the boundary wall and fell into the well.
“The three persons drowned while the 16 others in the jeep somehow managed to climb up the well,” he said.
At least 16 persons sustained injuries in the mishap and were rushed to the local hospital and were discharged after primary medical care, the SHO said, adding that the bodies of the three deceased were handed over to the family members after postmortem.
