Mandya, November 17: The list of politicians and elected representatives involved in land scams and fighting legal battles grew longer with three JD(S) MLAs of Mandya district being booked for conspiracy, breach of trust, forgery and cheating today. Today Mandya District Sessions Court accepted the private complaint lodged by lawyer T S Satyananda in illegal allotment of 107 Mandya Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites in 2009 and the court would conduct the hearing in the case on November 22. Charges were framed against seven persons, including three JD(S) legislators– M Srinivas (Mandya), A B Ramesh Bandhisiddegowda (Srirangapatna) and C S Puttaraju (Melkote). The other accused in the case were MUDA President Vidya Nagendra, MUDA Director M J Chikkanna, MUDA Commissioner Nisar Ahmed and former MUDA Commissioner Upendra Nayak. According to the petitioner Mr Satyananda the three MLAs, who were MUDA members, along with other accused had flouted stipulated norms and got 107 MUDA sites allotment in their name, their family, and kith and kin. In 1997, Irrigation Department had transferred 230 acres of Chikkamandya Lake land to MUDA and 200 acres to Housing Board free of cost. MUDA had converted the land into 2,714 sites and the allotment started in 2002. However, 107 sites were not allotted till 2009, which were illegally swallowed by the MLAs in connivance with MUDA authorities, he alleged.
