3 held for raping UP teacher

A 23- year- old school teacher was allegedly abducted and raped in Balwakheri village of Muzaffarnagar district on Saturday evening by a youth while two others videographed the incident on their mobile phones.

The victim was returning home after giving tuition when one of them abducted her.

“ He came from behind, covered my mouth with a cloth and dragged me to a semi- constructed house. He made a phone call to two of his friends and called them over. They filmed the incident on their mobile phones and threatened to circulate the video clip if I opened my mouth and informed anyone about the incident,” she said.

Despite the threat, the girl mustered courage and informed her family.

“ The girl’s father lodged an FIR against the accused,” a senior police officer said, adding a case has been registered against the three men.

The victim has identified the main accused as Mohit Singh of her village and his accomplices as Vipin and Sorabh. The police have arrested all the three accused, who are college students.

“ They ( the accused) were produced on Sunday before a duty magistrate who remanded them to judicial custody,” the police officer said.

This incident has taken place only a fortnight after a 20- year- old woman was gangraped by eight men in Muzaffarnagar and the video clipping of the incident was circulated on social media websites and Internet- based mobile phone texting applications.

In another case, during a surprise visit to the Etawah district hospital, District Magistrate Nitin Kumar Bansal met a girl admitted there who complained that the police had not registered her case of rape. Bansal asked the police to register the case and demanded that the accused persons be arrested immediately.

In yet another shocking incident, a seven- year- old boy was allegedly sodomised by a youth at Vahelna village under the Kotwali police station on Saturday, the police said. A case has been registered against the absconding accused, the police said.
