3 held for posting provocative messages on social media

Tirupati: Police arrested three people on Friday at Tirumala, where the Lord Venkateswara shrine is located, for allegedly posting provocative messages on social media, hurting sentiments of visiting devotees. The arrested men are said to be in their twenties.

According to Superintendent of Police KKN Anburajan, mobile phones and other materials were also seized from the arrested men. One of them belongs to Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, while the other two are from Hyderabad.

As reported by PTI, on August 31, a picture of a forest watchtower with a pole meant for camera atop it on a hill close to Tirumala was circulated with inflammatory messages on social media. Complaint against that was lodged by the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams that administers the Lord Venkateswara temple.
