Chennai, January 19: Three people, including two Sri Lankan nationals, were arrested by the officials of the Narcotics Control Bureau for possessing 660 gm of heroin, valued at Rs 60 lakh in the international market.
A NCB release said, acting on information, a special team arrested Mohamed Ashraf alias Mohamed Aslam (32) of Kerala and Ramesh (34) and Kanakasabai alias Suganthan (31) of Sri Lanka at a hotel in the city yesterday. The release said Aslam had procured the contraband in Mumbai and delivered it to the other two for transhipment to Sri Lanka. The trio was produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
