3 held in college girl murder case in Aurangabad

Aurangabad, June 22 : Police today claimed to have solved the murder case of a 21-year-old college girl, who was brutally killed on June 12, with the arrest of three people from Nirala Bzar here.

Addressing a press conference, City Police Commissioner K L Bishnoi said the main accused — Javed Khan Habib Khan (20), a resident of Jalna,–was arrested with his two accomplices from Nirala Bazar here.

Khan has confessed to murder Mansi Deshpande at her residence in Ahinsha Nagar locality in the city, Mr Bishnoi said, adding that they have also recovered the victim’s mobile phone from Khan.

The accused who has a criminal background, was hiding in the city with the help of his two associates — Pradip Bhaskar Chandalia (47) and Ram Shesrao Bodke (32) after the murder, he said.

Mr Bishnoi said the investigations were on to ascertain any involvement of others in the case.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena had organised protest rallies in front of 33 police stations in the district, demanding quick justice. Talking to UNI, party district chief Ambadas Danve said the police should come out with a clear picture of the case and punish the guilty.
