Hyderabad, June 11: The Central Crime Station, Hyderabad, has arrested three persons who allegedly cheated seven MBBS graduates with the promise of securing them medical seats by collecting Rs 35 lakh from them.
According to deputy commissioner of police (CCS) J Satyanarayana, Pillala Jagveer alias Kiran alias Uday, resident of Malkajgiri, Dr Betapudi Sowjanya, resident of RBI quarters, Begumpet, and Gajula Badrappa alias Badri, marketing manager in a private firm at Ameerpet and native of Mulugu, lured the MBBS graduates with the false promise of providing them PG seats in medical colleges and jobs in primary health centres.
The accused shared the money and spent the amount lavishly by purchasing luxurious cars and gold jewellery but did not fulfil their promises. Based on a complaint, the CCS registered a case against them. The accused were arrested and a car and gold jewellery, all worth about Rs 14 lakh, were seized from them.
