New Delhi, March 14: Three foreign nationals, including a Pakistani, have been arrested along the Indo-Nepal border while trying to enter India without proper travel documents, raising serious concern in the Home Ministry.
Highly placed sources said one Israeli, one German and a Pakistani were arrested recently during regular checking by the border guarding force SSB.
“As the Indo-Nepal border is open and porous in nature and citizens of India and Nepal can cross over it freely, the nationals of other country were trying to take advantage of it. They were carrying no valid travel documents,” an official said.
The Home Ministry has directed the SSB to beef up security along the 1,751-km long Indo-Nepal border as there have been reports of Pakistan-based militant organisations trying to send terrorists to India through the border.
