New Delhi: Three firemen were injured when a cylinder exploded while they were dousing a fire at a cardboard manufacturing unit in outer Delhi’s Najafgarh area this morning.
Firemen Rajkumar, Anil and Arvind Dagar, sustained burn injuries and were currently undergoing treatment at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, a DFS official said.
At around 4.10 AM, the firemen received a call about a fire in a factory in Nangli Sakrawati area of Najafgarh, following which 11 firetenders were rushed to the spot, he said, adding that the fire was brought under control by 10.20 AM.
The firmen were undergoing treatment at the hospital where their condition is stated to be out of danger.
No one was present inside the factory, when a petromax gas cylinder that exploded injuring the three, he said.
The cause of the blaze is not yet known, police said.
Last week, two firemen had died and as many injured after an LPG cylinder exploded when they were fighting a blaze at a fast food joint in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri area.
