Dehradun: A three-day ‘Arogya Mela’ is being organised here from February 5 to familiarise people with the ancient Indian systems of medicine including ayurveda and the research being done in these fields.
The Ministry of Ayush is organising the event which aims to promote all ancient Indian systems of medicine including ayurveda and help people fight diseases, state Health Minister Surendra Singh Negi said today.
A total of 66 companies from the pharmaceutical industry would participate in the fair out of which a majority are from Uttarakhand, he said.
Noting that the state is home to a variety of medicinal plants, Negi said medicinal plants unique to Uttarakhand will be showcased at the event.
He also said all arrangements have been made for observing on February 10 ‘National Deworming Day’.
