Kannur,June 01: Three Congress men were hurt in a bomb attack, allegedly by a group of CPI(M) activists at Kanalkara near Ambilat under the Koothuparamab police limits last night. According to police, they were identified as U N Sathyachandran, Pro-Congress School Teachers Union (KPSTU) district president and Congress Mandalam vice president and P Pradeepan, Booth secretary and his brother P Pratheekshan.
They were sitting on a bus shelter at Kanalkara near Ambilat, near the Indhira Bhavan of Koothupramaba when the attack took place.
They had been admitted at a private hospital at Thalassery.
Congress sources alleged that at around 2015 hrs a group of CPI(M) activists hurled four powerful steel bombs, damaged the Congress-built bus shelter. Last week and the unidentified assailants had attacked the Indhira Bhavan at Ambilat.
Large number of Police personnel under Koothuparamaba Circle Inspector K V Venugopal were camping in the tense area. However, the situation was under control, police said.
