Lucknow, July 13: Three interstate arms smugglers were arrested and a big haul of explosives and arms were recovered from their possession from City Kotwali area of Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh today.
Chhavinath, Rambali Mushar and Rajeshwar Prasad alias Raj Bind were nabbed from Pratappur canal and police recovered a carbine, 50 detonators with wires, 300 detonators, a double barrel gun and explosives from their possession, Additional Director General (ADG) of Police (Law and Order) Brij Lal said here today.
Mr Lal said that all the nabbed smugglers belong to Bihar and they used to sell the arms in different districts of UP.
”They don’t seem related with naxal activities but their nexus with the naxalites are being checked,” Mr Lal said.
The nabbed criminals are facing several charges of loot, murder in Bihar.
