The ‘Karwan-e-Mohabbat’ which aims at countering hate with love, began its second phase in which it will pass through Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and meet the victims of religious extremism and hate crime. The Karwan embarked from Delhi and covered 4 states so far through Karwan bus.
The campaign started from Gandhiji’s Samadhi at Rajghat and straight away reached Tilak Vihar. Tilak Vihar which is also called widow colony is a residential colony mostly inhabited by those affected by 1984 riots. At Tilak Vihar residents joined the peace campaign and shared ghastly stories of 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
Former civil servant and activist writer Harsh Mander, is the man spearheading the ‘Karwan e Mohabbat’ which aimed at stopping the spread of hate in any form.
Mr. Harsh Mander told that feeling of love needs to be promoted to counter hate. He claimed that RSS is trying to disrupt communal harmony to promote its ideologies. He said since 2014 a new trend of targeting minorities has begun as a result Muslims, Christians and other minorities are targeted indiscriminately.
