New Delhi: PM Narendra Modi had announced demonetisation, banning Rs. 500 and Rs. 1,000 notes, in a televised address two years ago.
Keeping in view the Diwali festival Congress has announced a nation-wide protest against demonetisation on Friday. However, the government is silence this year.
The opposition had also observed black day last year on the occasion of the first anniversary of demonetisation, while the government by observing ‘anti-black money day’ had tried to make believe that demonetisation was the biggest achievement of the government. Now that it has been exposed that as much as 99.3 per cent of the junked Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 notes have returned to the banking system and the government did not succeed in making any target, the government is silent over the issue.
Congress spokesperson Manish Tiwari has even demanded an apology from Narendra Modi.
