2G spectrum: BJP to stick to its demand for JPC

Ahmedabad, November 28: Slamming the Congress for refusing the Opposition’s demand for a JPC probe into the 2G spectrum scam, BJP today said its demand is legitimate and the party would stick to it.

“Congress is running away from the JPC and we have decided to stick to our demand. It has been three weeks now the Parliament is not functioning,” BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said here.

To a question, as to why the opposition cannot choose any other way of protest and allow the Parliament to function, Javdekar said the party’s demand is legitimate and in line with constitutional provisions and parliamentary traditions.

“Not only BJP, all the opposition parties are demanding JPC,” he pointed out.

Referring to the decision by Congress members of not taking their daily allowance for attending Parliament as the house has not functioned, he said it was trivialisation of politics.
