2G scam case final verdict on 21 December

New Delhi: The final judgment on the 2G spectrum case is scheduled on 21 December at Delhi’s Patiala Court announced a special court on Tuesday. The biggest corruption case in India is filed against former telecom minister A Raja, DMK Rajya Sabha member Kanimozhi and others.

Special Judge OP Saini was hearing the two separate 2G spectrum corruption cases filed by CBI and ED and had earlier concluded the final arguments on 26 April.

CBI claims former telecom Minister Raja was biased in allocating 2G mobile operating licences to telecom firms which had caused a huge loss to the state.

CBI’s charge sheet says Rs 200 crore was transferred to Kalaignar TV by the DB Group.

The Enforcement Directorate has filed a separate money laundering case alleging Raja along with Kanimozhi and DMK supremo M. Karunanidhi’s wife Dayalu Ammal conspired which led to Rs 200 crore scam.

The CBI had filed various charges against former telecom secretary Siddharth Behura, Raja’s private secretary R K Chandolia along with Swan Telecom promoters Shahid Usman Balwa and Vinod Goenka, Unitech Ltd MD Sanjay Chandra and three other top executives of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group Gautam Doshi, Surendra Pipara and Hari Nair.

Telecom firms Swan Telecom Pvt Ltd (STPL), Reliance Telecom Ltd and Unitech Wireless (Tamil Nadu) Ltd are also facing charges besides these 14 accused. All the accused are currently on bail reported Times Now.
