2G: Include MK & family as co-accused, says Jaya

Chennai, February 11: AIADMK supremo Jayalalithaa on Friday demanded that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi and his family members be included as co-accused in the 2G spectrum allocation case to unearth the “whole truth” behind the scam.

“Only then will the interests of justice be served,” Jayalalithaa said in a statement here as she stepped up attack on the scam, targeting her political rival and DMK president Karunanidhi.

“It is an exhibition of scientific corruption that one sees as the 2G spectrum scam investigation unfolds,” she said referring to transfer of funds by some companies owned by Asif Balwa, arrested in connection with the scam.

She alleged that former Telecom minister A Raja had sold valuable 2G spectrum to Swan Telecom, a new company launched by Dynamix Balwa, at a throwaway price of Rs 1,537 crore.

The Mumbai-based real estate company then sold 45 per cent of its holdings to the UAE-based Etisalat for Rs 4,200 crore.

Jayalalithaa claimed that the balance sheet for 2009-10 of Cineyug Films, owned by Balwa and Morani, showed that an unsecured loan of Rs 206 crore was given to Chennai-based Kalaignar TV, in which Karunanidhi’s wife Dayalu and his daughter Kanimozhi jointly hold 80 per cent stake.
